Terms of Use
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These terms apply to the Curling Split Time Camera app for iPhone ("the app"), published by Ocean Byte AG ("we"). By installing or using the app you agree to them.
1. What the app does
Curling Split Time Camera uses your iPhone's camera to detect a curling stone passing two zones you place on screen, and measures the time between the two crossings. It is a training aid. It is not an official or certified timing device, and its results must not be used as the basis for competition decisions.
2. Accuracy
Measured times depend on how the phone is mounted, the lighting at the rink, the calibration you choose and the camera's frame rate. We do not guarantee that any measurement is accurate or that a crossing is always detected.
3. Purchase
- The app is free to download and offers a trial of 60 minutes of live mode. The in-app purchase "Full Version" is bought once in the App Store at the price shown there and lifts that limit; it is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored on your other iPhones. There is no subscription.
- Purchases, refunds and billing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
- Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the licence to the app.
4. Your use of the app
You may use the app for personal, non-commercial training. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law or the rules of your rink or club. Make sure the camera is pointed only where people expect it, and respect the privacy of others on the ice.
5. No warranty and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the app or from reliance on its measurements.
6. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. The current version of the terms is always published on this page. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law rules, unless the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence provides otherwise.
